I don’t need it. Don’t want it.
I thought I’d lost you. Ditched you. Left you behind (somewhere).
And yet, here you are. You found us. Our new home.
I told them not to. I asked for silence. Privacy. Do not track.
Did someone break the code, the protocol, my request.
Someone (against my wishes) gave you our forwarding address
We don’t need two bookends. One bookend plus wall, will do.
One plus any flat upright surface, that’s all we need to keep standing
Who (on earth) needs two bookends?
*
Life - Death
*
Life (bookend), plus wall, that’s all we want
All we need
How did you find us? Who sent you (here)?
Death (bookend)
I thought I’d ditched you? Ran away (from you).
We moved (without) you. I thought I’d left you behind.
But - - - you found us
I see you (death) - circling
Our boy (beloved dog, oldest, biggest, beautiful boy - dog, beloved)
There you are
Slowly circling
Damn you. Damn you.
Go away. And if you won’t (go), then be quick about it.
Damn you. Damn you.
There's something about time and tide... was this in a poem perhaps? I'm not going to check. But time and tide... waits for no man (is that the line?). We're talking through implications but it sounds like time is doing what it does.
